Are you blaming God for your situation?

A Daily Word from the Word for Monday, September 21, 2015

“Then the man said, ‘The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.’” – Genesis 3:12

This was Adam’s response to God, after the Creator asked the question: “Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” (Verse 11). So let me set the scene for those of you who may not be familiar with this story: God created a beautiful and perfect garden for Adam, his wife, and their eventual children. He told them to enjoy everything to their hearts desire, except for one single tree. Eve was tricked by the devil, and ate of this forbidden fruit, who then gave some to her husband, who also ate.

When God called Adam on his disobedience, not only did He not fess up, but he had the audacity to blame God! Isn’t that something! Just like some folks. You try to help them out, and then they don’t listen, and then want to turn around and blame you! Isn’t this just like you and me, family, when it comes to God sometimes?

Blaming God for what we put ourselves in, allowed ourselves to be in, or for what happened to us through no fault of our own, is not the way out. God is not the reason for our situation, but the remedy out of it! As long as we continue to blame our Loving and Faithful Father, we will block His rescue attempts. So let us own what we need to own, repent for what we need to repent, and start reaching out and up to the One Who took captivity captive so that we may be free.

Father, we repent for every time we blamed You for our problems, poor decisions, disobedience, or situation. Forgive us for blaming you for things that happened to us, even when they weren’t our fault. Your plans for us are good plans, plans not harm us, but to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11); therefore, anything contrary to this, isn’t Your intent or Will for us. Help us to stop blaming You, and to cling to You more tightly. In Jesus Name, we thank You for being our Way-maker, as we continue to keep our eyes on You while we praise and worship our way out of our situation.

Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to give your situation and circumstances over to God. Determine to allow the Father to deliver you of any blame you are holding on to. Like King David, ask your Holy Savior to create in you a clean heart, and to renew a right spirit within you (Psalm 51:10). And continue to fight the good fight of holding your Perfect Papa blameless; for God, your Divine Solution, has already given you the victory!

Jesus is coming soon!

May God Bless you and keep you always.

With warmest regards,

And, in service of The Most High King,

Matthew
